View Full Version : fill time 48ci/3000psi paintball tank

I am a newbie, so forgive any ignorance. I am switching from CO2 to compressed air and I am on the list for a 3000PSI shoebox. I paintball at my ranch and we blast through about 10K or more balls per session. So, I am debating on getting a scuba tank or more paintball tanks for refilling.

What is the average time to refill a 48ci from about a 1000psi to 3000psi, same question for the 68ci/3000psi tank. I am wondering if it is cheaper to have more paintball tanks and keep the shoebox filling those or to work off of a scuba and keep the shoebox working on filling the scuba tank.

I currently have 6 48ci tanks and 2 68ci tanks. The nearest fill is about 45 minutes away.

Any information is appreciated. Thanks Brian

I don't do the paint ball but can give you this I filled a 62 cu.in. tank from 0 to 3000 psi in about 2 1/2 hrs. and use down to about 2k then refill back to 3k takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Hope this helps.

You have to think that one through for yourself. There is no clear path in that situation. Most people go with the scuba.
